Organizers of the Eric Sturdza Geneva Open Bank awarded Feliciano Lopez a first wild card. The Madrilenian left-hander will be present for the first time at Parc des Eaux-Vives.

Roger Federer's comrade - the two men were born in 1981 - Feliciano Lopez has six titles to his credit. He has also won the Davis Cup three times. He also has a record that will be extremely difficult to beat: 68 Grand Slam tournaments played in succession, ongoing series. He has not missed a single lift of a major tournament since Roland Garros 2002.

The Eric Sturdza Geneva Open Bank, an ATP 250 tournament, will take place from 18 to 25 May at the Parc des Eaux-Vives on the courts of TC Geneva. The winner of Monaco Fabio Fognini (ATP 12) and the Russian Daniil Medvedev (ATP 14) are the first two headliners of the tournament. The organizers intend to further expand their table, which includes nine players ranked among the world's top fifty, with the last two invitations they have.
